Unhappy N95-1 Lens Cover Issue ... Need Help ...

Just the this morning, i went to take my phone out of my pocket and noticed the lens cover was slightly open. No big deal right? Just slide it back to fully closed and the problem should be solved ...

Unfortunately, the slider was BARELY locking into the closed position, and was noticably looser when sliding from open to closed. I repeated the process a few times to make sure I wasn't going crazy. Essentially it feels like it lost the "tension" that was normally present which gave the feeling of a secure lock.

So my question is, although I'm not very mechanically inclined, does anyone know why this would happen - and more importantly - what should be done to correct it???

Any advice greatly appreciated...

My advice would be that if you´re experiencing issues with your mechanical lens cover and you are thoroughly sure that you haven´t dropped your device currently, you should take it to your closest Nokia retailer and have your N95 repaired.

if its still under warranty, yea you could send it back to the NSC to get it repaired. if you're adventurous, you could purchase OEM parts and d.i.y.

I've also noticed this happening as well, the part about it being open when you take it out. Try to be careful when putting it in your pocket because it can catch easily and open the shutter and repeatedly doing this will wear down the locking mechanism.

If you are really active I'd suggest getting a case for it to help prevent this. I notice when I snowboard the phone almost always is switched to landscape when removing from my pocket and I think it's because it will tend to slide open and then closed again.

While I am gratelful for everyone's advice - believe it or not the slider mechanism seems to have returned to it's normal self. I can't say what specifically did it, all I can say is that for the last few days I've been extra careful with the phone and just last night I went to take a picture and .... it was like there was never a problem in the first place.

I know, don't ask too many questions, just be happy right?

I disagree, if you have a question then ask it, it's what this forum is all about.
