Anyone Been On Holiday To Canada?

As the subject really. Is there enough to do there for two weeks? There is so little information in the holiday brochures.

I've got to book the honeymoon you see. Its either Canada or Los Angeles/Las Vegas twin centre trip.

Both always wanted to visit Canada, but not really sure what there is to keep us entertained. Were not sun worshippers - we don't go on holiday to spend hours lying on a beach. Like to check out the scenery, attractions etc.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

well its a country, i dont think you would be able to exhaust any countries' attractions in two weeks. it is winter at the moment ofcourse, so there will likel be snow unlike those places you mentioned in the states. You could always do a west coast california to whistler thing, or montreal/toronto to new york thing. Ask jokappe what he thinks when he gets back from whistler. Population wise Canada only has a couple of areas, vancouver, calgary/edmonton, toronto, montreal, east coast. Granted not all people like to visit cities but more the inbetween stuff. Geougraphically its huge ofcourse so in a two week period your really only going to be able to visit 1 or 2 of those areas unless you want to spend a lot of time driving/flying.

Thanks mate.

We won't be going till September. I've taken your suggestions on board. Now need to look a little deeper into things.

Well i have relatives in Canada actually, and from what i heard it's pretty fun! put it this way, with enough planning, you could enjoy a nice cuppa tea over looking the gorgeous scenery there, it's quite good from what i've heard

Montreal

Leong is right, Canada is a huge country and it really depends what cities you plan to visit and what type of activities you like to do. I live in Montreal and there plenty of things to do still in September. Montreal is a festival city starting from Spring through to Fall.

If you visit Montreal you must spend time in Old Montreal and the Old Port.
Links:
- TOURISME MONTRÉAL - TRAVELLER
- This is the official tourism site of Montreal
- Montrealinfo.com : The Reference on Montreal
- This site has a newsletter available that gives updates on what's new in the city in terms of entertainment in the city. I use this to keep up to date.

- Old Montreal / The grand tour, with 150 pictures
- Vieux-Montréal : site officiel
- Home | Croisieres Evasion | Cruises Montreal Quebec on the St. Lawrence river in Quebec Canada
- Ville de Montréal - Portail officiel - Home

If you should need more info or have questions I would be happy to provide info or direct you -- no strings. I'm just a proud Montrealer or as locals would say Montréalais. You can PV me to exchange e-mail coordinates. You're giving yourself plenty of time to plan your trip so you should be good wherever you decide to go.

Have fun on your trip.

ok just read this one, trying to catch up on here after being away for a couple weeks. I will say if you snowboard Whistler is absolutely the greatest place you could ever go. Just from watching the promo videos it seems like there is still a hell of a lot of stuff you can do there even when there's no snow. Tons of mountain biking, hiking, bungee jumping and the village is HUGE. I'd look up what Whistler has to offer for that time of year, that and Vancouver seems like an awesome little town to spend some time in. Check out my flikr page, at work so cant hit you up with the link but it's on the site, for a ton of pics of the place.
