Talking Nokia N96 review and Feature Pack 2!!!

Just found this, the main review is recent, the feature pack 2 review is about a month old. But considering N96 uses FP2 I thought I would include it :) Apparently the battery life is worse than N95-1!

Quote:

Nope, Nokia have never updated an older phone with a newer operating system in the past.

N96... yet another re-hashed N95 with some slight improvements and add-ons... With NO substantial lens-protection! Not even worthy of consideration IMO.

How on earth do these guys get their hands on the latest devices before anyone else! ;)

Looks like an insightful review but I only got about half-way through before my brain refused to unscramble any more of it!

Was initially excited about this until I saw the specs. Hardly a leap technology wise.

TBH I doubt my next upgrade will be a Nokia now, they just seem to be performing minor upgrades to handsets as opposed to being innovative.

I like the stand built into the lens surround.

The only real differnece I have seen between the N95 and 96 is the built in tv decoder, which wont work in the UK so I'm told.

I'll be keeping my old trusty N95 for quite a while me thinks

The N96 has better h.264 support built into the hardware. There some 640x480 video podcasts that do not run on the N95, like shows from CNET or G4. These shows should run on the n96.
