So how much do I hate Vista?

  • SQL 2000 doesn't work properly
  • SQL 2005 wants a big service pack
  • Visual Studio 2008 Pro wants a big service pack (it's new software)
  • UAC? WTF? I know I clicked a program, yes really I want to open it I clicked it!

Just turn UAC off if you don't want it.

S60 does the same thing by asking you over and over if really really want to install that app.

I turn UAC off, it says constantly that it's turned off. I killed the service that does that message, I get a message telling me that service is off. So I kill that, and I get a critical security message.

I mean is it serious that it thinks people can get past my existing network security?

No need to.

Ctrl Panel > Security Center > Link on the left says "Change the way security center alerts me"

Click that link, then chose the bottom option.

You'll never get bothered again.

I'll probably install Vista when it comes to upgrade my MCSE to MCITP/MCTS...

We're not rolling out Vista at work for a while so should be safe :)
