Should i change my housing and front camera?

there is a smudge on the front camera of my phone that just wont go away! and theres another black smudge on the top right of my numerical keypad. i am the kind of person that cant stand the fact that theres something wrong with your phone (or something else) and you cant do anything about it. so i told my dad yesterday that i was going to change the housing and the front camera (using my own money), and he warned me of the precautions, which kinda scared me. he said that when my phone was assembled, it was assembled by a machine and it shut the housing air-tight. if i let them (NSC) open the housing, moisture will definitely rush in the phone and would create an internal condensation. another thing he said was that if the camera was exposed by moisture, theres a huge chance that mould could grow in the lens. so, can you guys please confirm these potential dangers?

Having recently changed a few bits and bobs on my own N95-1 I can offer the benefit of my own experience.
While I completely disagree with the advice youve received so far (Even the official Nokia disassembly training video doesnt take place in a vacuum :-) I suspect your Dad is just trying to disuade you in case you damage something) there are several considerations involved.
Firstly consider that when you take the plunge and start disassembling any part of your phone there is 'always' the small possibility that you may damage something in the process.
This could render your expensive phone useless (or at least with a hefty repair bill).
As long as you accept that fact from the outset you should be fine.

I would recommend changing just the front cover & keypad and anything that doesnt need changing leave alone.
With this in mind you can use Genuine parts. I really dont advise using aftermarket parts under any circumstances!!!!!!!!

At the end of the day if you get an NSC to do the work it might cost you more but at least if they break anything you wont be liable.

PS. I assure you, there nothing 'airtight' about the construction of the N95 :-)

oh no, of course i wont be doing it on my own, ill hand in my phone to the NSC. money is not the problem now. so youre saying that even the assembly at the factory is not sealed air tight?
