X1 review

Finally, a WM device that will start to make Nokia take notice.

Review: First Impressions of the Xperia X1 - WMExperts

Specwise its not as good, missing out on the camera quality.

However it does beat it in a lot of other areas.

Its turning my head, thats for sure, though I doubt I can afford that.

Its touchscreen AND has qwerty, in a not unrealistic form factor (and looks fantastic).

Im afraid that if its a decent price on contract in the uK when my contracts up, this will be my choice........maybe.....we'll see..........

Edit: I'm not as crazy as I thought I'd be about it....hmmm maybe because I havent experienced a windows mobile....

Just seems like a shiney E90 with slide instead of fold.
I think its mainly the SE printed where Nokia should be, that turns me off it.

Its quite different, the sizes for a start.

Touch screen (on the main screen), and much much nicer looking. Keyboard looks to be better, but I havent tried either so cant say much about that.

I dont care what label it has, if it does the job then thats it. If the iphone did the job Id have that (which it doesnt, by any stretch of the imagination), Ive never been a fanboy for any brand.

Been watching this handset for a while, I love its form-factor and looks, but I'm not really sure 3mp without a lens cover is going to do it for me... The Samsung G810 on the other hand... (**** hard to type, maybe I should not have drunk so much.....nah).

Kings of Leon are great, btw.

SOBER EDITING: That would be the Samsung G810, er haven't heard of any Samsung G820 ;]

I have had a couple on WM devices (the last one before my N95 was an O2 Orbit), and there are a number of plus points.

1) being windows based means there is an absolute TON of software available
2) again being windows based means you can configure just about every option possible with registry tweaks
3) Anyone who develops any type of interface usually makes it compatible with windows (who would develop something that doesn't talk to a windows OS??)

for me, I hate touchscreens....I prefer the tactile feedback you get from a button.

i got a htc touch dual and it's not bad at all (WM)... haven't tweaked anything because i don't want to end up messing it up... there are a lot of hacks for it and i don't have the patience to read them so i only do patches that are in cab file already... actually, i don't even know much about the terms they use. :D
