That is a fair call, I retract that comment.. I still don't see how people can complain about the iPhone's GPS not being a 'real GPS' because it doesn't have voice navigation though.. By that logic the N95 has 'GPS as an optional extra..'

I've got mates who bought and unlocked the original iPhone, and a few that picked up the iPhone 3G... I'll find out for sure the next time I see them, but I think you'll find it could be alot n00b users...

Once again just to reliterate.. I'm not for once arguing the iPhone's a better phone, I don't think it is.. I do think it's a huge step in the right direction from Apple though, and I do think it's very a nice phone, and there are plenty of people (My guess is the majority of business users) who's needs suit the iPhone more than that of the N95..

edit: Maybe not...

I'll agree with you. There are indeed many fine points regarding the iPhone- and I'll say it again, I think it's a device well suited to many individuals- but I think a lot of them are confused about what's really available out there today (and a year ago...) and assume that the iPhone can do a lot more than it really can. There's a lot of clever marketing surrounding the iPhone, and I can't help to thing once again as another iPhone release rolls out and we get into the same discussion... if it didn't have an Apple logo on it, it would be a joke. Sure it has a flashy interface... but that's really it. It's not the feature rich device that I'm sure a large majority of iPhone users think/"know" it is- which is a clearly a result of BRILLIANT marketing, FUD and mistruths.

I still hold strong- the iPhone is the BEST thing that has every happend to Nokia in North America for a number of reasons... Nokia has a lot to learn about marketing to the undereducated and ignorant American market- the iPhone has gotten us simpleton mobile users interested in what is possible with a high end mobile device (even if you can't do THAT much with an iPhone) and it IS high time that S60 had a radical interface update. Hence... the Symbian Foundation. Nokia just spent an assload of money to make sure they can get changes done that a very 'stick in the mud' company wasn't allowing. Good things are coming from Nokia, and a lot of it is going to be the result of this toy "smartphone" that Steve Jobs is selling to the masses with a handful of trickery.

lol Yes that exact what the Gps in iphone is , it only use the Google maps and if u drive u need to stop
and type new info in the phone in evry corner.
And the streetmaps in google are real bad for drive navigation.

You can't even log into a chat app and do anything else. Wow... what a smartphone. It might have be a fabulous MP3 player, but given that you can't do else with it while you listen to those tunes... that's an absolute deal breaker. You can't even use the two main functions of the thing at the same time! No web browsing and listening to music? LMFAO. Smartphone indeed. Pffft- jokers.

I play music while I look something up on the Internet all the while voice navigation runs in the background as I shoot down the road as my push email quietly operates in the background while Jaiku keeps updating and MSN and googletalk await a conversation from a contact and my call recorder waits for an incoming call to log in AMR format. I can take a picture and upload it to my flickr page right in the middle of all that if I desire and see what my friends have recently uploaded when I'm done and pick a new track to listen to. If that gets old, I can stream live TV from home. This is average usage for me.

Meanwhile an iPhone user shuts down his music player on his new magical piece of gadgetry so that he can look up a *list* of turn-by-turn directions. HA! Enjoy that.

Biggest laugh I've had on the iPhone to-date. How silly. To think- when we were dealing with the N95-1 and it's limited RAM before DP, we were all up in arms because we couldn't run more than three things at once!

Amazing.
lol Yes thats true , Apple have choice to take away the multietasking system because they was affraid to lose batterytime and use processorpower unnecessary.
Like you can get a flicr app acount in the new Apple store but you cant upload at once , you need to load pics up with shouzu but you can never do 2 things at the same time.
If you are in a chatt like MSN or what ever you be outlogged at once if you do 2 things.
But you can listen to music and get sms or phonecalls if you are in some program...:)

Here in Sweden the phone gurus real complaine not only at the gps but
why iphone only use itunes you can never open a enclosure because iphone
3g dont have any available fileshare system.

and more strange they say why Apple have take away the possibilty to use the phone as a modem to your computer?

and ofcorse how and why apple in 2008 even dont have MMS ?

Interesting point: Truphone have released a client for the iPhone, but it seems it only uses Wifi. Use Truphone to make Wi Fi phone calls when you're out and about

I though there was not going to be any voip applications developed for the iPhone. :(

I'll have to cross that one off my iBashing speech.

It's Broke?

Did you know that your Nokia comes with a 2 year warranty? Did you know that Carphone Warehouse are Nokia Repair Centres?
Damage from normal use: wobbly slider, broken keys, quiet earpiece etc... will be repaired for free, and usually the same day if you take it to a big store!
