Question Aerial Photography with your N95?

Seeing as I have an interest in photography, and love radio controlled planes, and helicopters, (used to have an rc Helicopter), I was just wondering if anyone here has actually attached their N95 to an RC Plane, or Helicopter.?

Im tempted to buy another.

Would you take your trusty N95 airborne?

There are a few videos on youtube showing some, but what a great way to see your home, or local area, from the sky.!

Here's just a couple of videos I found recently.

YouTube - Nokia N95 attached to RC Helicopter

YouTube - nokia n95 on rc plane

all comes down to how well you can fly the RC helicopter? i have flown for about a year and still learning the ropes, as for a plane its alot easier tbh make a small cradle out of EPS foam for the phone. i have personally tried it in a medium sized 4 channel plane with a Prada phone and it worked out alright but not with a N95.

wow, that's very nice footage :D

i wish i had something RC controlled so i could try this.
the closest thing i did was when i put my previous phone, a Nokia 6630 on a train on my dad's model train set and filmed while it drove. maybe i should try that with the N95, the quality should be much better :)

well you could take the photos using the 20 second delay and sequence mode?..

the 6 shot burst takes 1 photo every 2 seconds, or you can use 10 second mode which takes photos until the memory runs out.

so all you need is to press the shutter to start the timer and take off, leaving the phone to do the rest.

or it you have loads of money, you could mount it screen down and video call another phone so you can have live video of the flight ;)

We even flew ours over the GooglePlex earlier this year.

We have our own software that triggers the shutter on an interval, records the GPS log, and makes files which are compatible with google earth. Fire me an email if you would like to test (ortelius@pictearth.com)
