Who needs features...

A "landline" style mobile for £10.

Hop-on.com :: Cell Phones :: GSM: HOP1800

The sort of phone you might take on a stag weekend, I guess...?

It's Broke?

Did you know that your Nokia comes with a 2 year warranty? Did you know that Carphone Warehouse are Nokia Repair Centres?
Damage from normal use: wobbly slider, broken keys, quiet earpiece etc... will be repaired for free, and usually the same day if you take it to a big store!

i loaded the spec sheet half expecting a blank page...

good idea, but i expect there are certain handsets that will sell for less and still have more options.. (i have a crappy nokia that cost about 20 quid and it has phonebook, sms, call log - all simple things that this phone lacks - and i bet it cost more than 20 quid)

that said, it is a good idea

Yeah, I read an article shortly after I posted this that basically sad just that - they missed the boat. Apparently WoolWorths were selling a PAYG Alcatel for £8 last year, with polyphonic ring tones! Wooo.

My first was a Sagem. Little green two line display and the phone book was stored by numbers, not names. So you had to remember which number in the list each person was.

Ah yes..... sigh.... And it wasn't that long ago really... How spoiled are we now...

Was going to say, my Nokia 1600 backup phone was only £15 from a local supermarket, and that's got things like, well a screen and stuff :p

Good idea, but as above when there's some pretty capable (if basic) phones in that price range that were good by the standards of 5 years ago, why would you spend it on a "disposable/recyclable" model which would be shamed by most handsets from 10 years ago?
