Every now and again I start using my N85 in a way I hadn't before.
Last night I loaded it up with season 7 of Family Guy. Great, each episode was around 115mb. So I could fit a whole season on , with loads of space left. I was sat in the motor last night, waiting for the lass to do some shopping. I was playing family guy on the phone full screen, horizontally with DivX Mobile. I then thought, would the FM Trans work with DivX Mobile. Sure as heck, it does. I had a right chuckle to my self, playing family guy over the car radio whilst watching it on my phone. I then had a second brain wave, a mate of mine has a 14" TV attached to his dash board, which acts as a Sat Nav Screen, and also a DVD player (DVD in boot.) I popped round with my TV out cable, connected to his screen, and transmitted the sound via FM over the car radio. When the FM trans is enabled, this must stop audio going down the TV out cable, and just allow Video only. Superb, Family guy in full deep rich colour with clear surround sound. Just superb.

Family Guy is THE best 'toon on telly, better than the Simpsons and Futurama (both of which I love BTW). I've also got my wife into it and when 'The Blue Harvest' episode was on BBC3, I let my 8 yr old twin boys watch it (BIG MISTAKE!!!!!) as they're both Star Wars mad! They were laughing more at me laughing and obviously didn't get what I found so funny. One of them didn't shut up about the pimped up Tie Fighter for ages, my daughter still goes boom boom tish, boom boom tish every time she watches a Star Wars film!
I really like Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and it's just come back from a mid-season break and unbeknown to me had been back a couple of weeks. I found the 2 episodes I hadn't seen, put them on my 5800's memory card (about 100mb a pop) and watched them at work last night. I've put the next few episodes and intend to get ahead of what I can see on Virgin1 sometime later this weekend by plugging my phone into my TV. Last edited by ramjam69; 02-21-2009 at 02:08 PM. |

I agree it’s nothing less than superb, by far the best out there. Although I’d say it does sit behind South Park, in my all time favourites.
They may appear to be childish cartoons, but their messages and jokes are so much deeper and adult orientated its rib cracking stuff. Family Guy can get a little bit too much if you watch it for long periods. With the "Remember when I was in that band." But on the whole it's superb. I must admit, I hate Star Wars, so the Blue Harvest stuff didn't do anything for me, at all. I've just had a re watch of some classic ep's. One where Peter goes for a prostate examination, and gets the Doc sacked on rape claims. The one where they move down south to incest country, Peter becomes Sheriff and Stewie plays the Banjo. Some pure class episodes in all the pas seasons, really is way to many to name in all honesty. I've just got to the point of getting the Mrs involved in it now, which she finds it brilliant.

I was into South Park in a big way too, went to see the film twice, once with my wife and then the following weekend with one of my best friends who I'd gotten into it. Haven't really watched it for a while, though I'm aware it's on MTV and Paramount Comedy. The best ever episode was the one when Korn came into town, a p***take of Scooby Doo!
The southern episode of Family Guy was on last week sometime. Seen it 2 or 3 times before but still gets me laughing. |

Some wonderful pictures there mate, were they all taken on your phone? I used my 8gig and N96 quite a lot as a camera, but haven't taken that many with my 5800 yet. |

Back on track now though.....
My wife and kids have been in Scotland with her parents for the past week and should be back sometime later today. If the weather's like it is now, tomorrow I might take them to Hubbard's Hills in Louth, it's like a free park, very tranquil and nice. and then we'll go to Mablethorpe (Hi David C!!) to see if the sand racing's on as I've got a couple of friends who race. If we go I'll try the camera and video of my 5800 out and see how good it is. |
