Unhappy Lord of the Rings help

Yesterday I was shocked to find out that my copy of Fellowship of The Ring has been seriously damaged somehow,so now I only have 2 parts of the three.

Today I found a replacement copy online,and I'm downloading it now,it's 8GB in size,but it's in .iso format. (?!)

Now I'm confused.I wanted to download a DVD-R with menus and everything, shouldn't that be in VOB format??? I always thought that iso files were games??
Should I continue downloading this file,or is it useless?

It could still be a dvd file juss, some people use the apps Magic ISO or Power ISO to pack them up.

Burn it to a DUAL LAYER blank, using imgburn (free and VERY good) available here:

The Official ImgBurn Website

It will only be VOB if it's the individual files, as it's an iso - that indicates it's been (correctly) ripped, and burning the iso back to media will reproduce an exact copy of the original....

thanks guys,so this doesn't look as hopeless as I thought,I don't know what happened to my original,it was always inside the case, yesterday I take it out to watch it (I just LOVE that intro speech by Cate Blanchett!!) and eeek! it doesn't even load...What a nightmare.

So I just choose "Burn as image" and it should be OK...

its my understanding that a .iso file is a disk image, and not just the main movie ripped from the disc - so yes as long as it is what it says it is then it should work fine, youll just need to use the right burning software.

Mission accomplished folks, the two discs work like a charm, that was a close one,I thought I would have to buy a new copy, somewhere?!

But it seems that the cast and crew commentaries are missing, could they have been removed from the .iso image to free up space? If that's the case,I really hate the guy who ripped that,I hope...his cat dies!
