it would be interesting to know the reference test criteria (i.e. what is has to do after the testing to qualify as being fully functional)
ok, the phone stays in one piece but how about call quality? are the speaker and mic still fully functional?

A fully tough phone which actually has some features, camera and GPS.
Sounds very good to me. Have to wonder how useful GPS actually is considering it probably doesn't any of the normal smartphone OS's on. If it had symbian on, I'd probably get one. You really could take it out and not care what you did. |

This is finally a phone you wouldn't mind dropping a few times, but still if you are a person that takes care of your phone, you can just as easily take care of an N97 in those conditions.

What, strapped to a landie wheel?
Just think, you could still go surfing, walking god knows where, and not worry about it. What comes to mind is a trip to Alton Towers I had, and I was very worried about my phone on water rides (no-one was staying off the rides to hold them). Luckily it didn't get wet, but it could have been different.
