Nah, if I do that I'll just go back to my 5800 (and possibly cry a bit).

Is there really a need for a 12MP camera in a phone?! Like if you really want that high quality photo's you must be fairly into photography so would you not be looking for more professional camera's!?!

I want the best possible picture I can get from my phone. There are quite a few arguments, but by far the biggest -

I always have my phone with me.

I used to own a digital camera, but I never used it. With a dedicated camera, you have to take it about, and practically plan on taking photos.

All my photos are spur of the moment things, so yes I do want my phone to be good. Of course, the MP debate will still rage on, but generally speaking, the better the cam, the happier people are.

You don't have to be a professional to appriciate good pictures.

I agree with you Bart , ofcorse I want the best possible camera even if I'm not
shore of the pixel race , but it look like Nokia maybee follow ?

PhoneReport's sources in Nokia and Carl Zeiss have revealed that the Finnish giant will rival its competitors with 12 megapixel camera-phones and possibly, with devices featuring optical zoom for their cameras.

The sources insisted that next year Nokia will surprise the market with its offerings. The devices containing the 12 megapixel cameras and optical zoom could be revealed either at the end of this year, or at the beginning of 2010. Considering the dates, it is unlikely that a Nokia N98 - the future Nokia flagship - would be announced at the Nokia World 2009 (2-3 September), but rather at the Mobile World Congress 2010 in February.

I note from the specs in your link that there's no mention of on-board GPS Bart!

Would I buy a phone without GPS?

Samsung I7500 - Full phone specifications

Samsung i7500 ANDROID

As if ;)

Still can't find out when it's out though, supposedly now! Nowhere has it yet though. Shame.

Are you not tempted spook? I know the spec is pretty much what you want, if not the OS.

That's what I thought! Entirely your fault for linking to a spec that doesn't list it! <g>

Though I find that more than one spec-list on the 'Net fails to mention it and a YouTube reviewer also states it's absent... though this may have been only on the proto version.

Worrying, I'd have thought they would include it as standard now.

I'll have to check before I buy.

Still slightly suprised your not tempted spook. You never tried android?

After my foray into WinMo, it took me ages to grasp the basics of Symbian once more, so I've no intentention of trying to get my head around yet another OS if I can help it!

Apart from the OS, a big for me is the pathetic lack of lens-protection... yet again on a camera-phone!

From viewing this vid, which mentions the apparent lack of GPS btw (although it is a proto version)... I've formed the opinion that whilst the OS is certainly pretty fast, it seems rather clunky graphics-wise and over-simplistic compared to Nokia... Aimed at the iPhone market perhaps? hehe!
