No- it's not too late to ask for votes- but it is particularly poor form to hijack my thread asking the community that I've been a big part of for years to vote for you. :-/

Doesn't matter anyhow- it would appear that felbutss thinks he's found a way around the rules. A co-worker of his commented in the thread that he's gotten all of their company's remote users to vote for him. Felbutss confirmed that he works for a travel group that has thousands of employees- so I'm guessing they've seen fit to just log into those machines, use their unique IPs and vote as many times as they can. This would explain why the votes come in a couple hundred at a time, only during regular working hours in his timezone, and then suddenly cease for hours.

What a shame. I was having so much fun with this competition, planning out my submission- hitting up all of the local second hand clothes shops for vintage clothes, running around from location to location finding the right look for each shot- getting access to a classic car, going out on the lake in a boat- I even trimmed my beard several times for different looks- and then endlessly fiddled around learning my way through photoshop to do the things that I wanted to do to create what I thought was clearly one of the best submissions. Instead, the leaderboard is full of submissions that are lackluster to say the least- and are leading the contest by an overwhelming margin.

It's too bad if Nokia and the sponsors don't do anything about this. It'll also be the last contest I'll ever participate in sponsored by Nokia if this whole thing isn't addressed.

Too bad that a couple people had to ruin what was intended to be such a fun idea. Shameful.

It's not only poor form, but it's also pointless - you can vote only once in this competition and I have already voted for Pseudofinn both from my work and office computers. Regretfully, that's all I can do and not just because he's a founding member of this forum but because I do think his entry is the best one.

It's a shame that a powerful community like ours cannot overcome petty cheats, I was hoping for quite an active show of support (and taste) and am really disappointed by the pathetic 100-odd votes registered for Pseudo's entry, especially given that they are probably coming from an even smaller number of people.

hear hear.

i've voted at home, at work and even annoyed my family and friends in the UK to cast a few votes but what worries me is the forum response.

OK, so i've only been a member for about a year so i won't harp on about "the good old days" but surely there should be more support for one of our own.

i'm not angry.....just disappointed.

Well! The competition is *really* heating up now, but not in a good sense. :-(

I think he's seen to it that it becomes a short list of 9 instead of 10 at this point. Really shameful the way he's acting in that thread. Had to even comprehend someone being so immature and abusive to fellow humans. I pity those who have to share a workplace/home with this guy.

I say to 93tid and Evil Genius, I appreciate your sentiments- and I shouldn't really say so, but I also echo your words of disappointment. Though, I'm far more disappointed with that guy in the competition's thread.

this kid feltbuss has something to hide otherwise would not be sitting there acting very deffensive. either way he deserves to be kicked off.. not for his action of getting the votes (as nothing specifically states that he can't ip-spoof) but for his comments and reactions and the fact he is swearing constantly and being abusive towards other participants.

I personally don't see the point of his entry... I can whip up that in a half hour... no originality specially as those CRT monitors are blatently an attempt to try and re-create the computing image of the 80s and (i wouldn't know but am assuming) look nowhere near authentic 80s.

Kind of what I was thinking as well- and yes, he should be out of there. In retrospect, I shouldn't have even responded to him- clearly he's they sort of fellow that can't be civil, and it was quite obvious without statement from me that he's far out of line.

It's all good. If it was meant to be funny, I can see the humor in it. :-)

He should give it a rest. What I find endlessly amusing is how after half a dozen of his incredibly abusive and vulgar comments he suggests, "why don't we all just stop".

And yes, Internet polls are easily abused- which is really a shame. I figured this was going to be a pretty fun contest- some of the other submissions were really good, and I thought I had some definite competition, but nothing like this! Whew. I think it's the last kind of thing like this that I'll do. Dealing with some of the nutters that come in here from time to time is bad enough. :P
