Mobile phone 'leaks'

I have long suspected that most 'leaks' are not in fact leaks at all, but clever marketing. Or at the very least, not actively stopped.

Take this for example - http://mobile-review.com/sadm_files/...68x1024(1).jpg

Supposedly, that might be the new 'dragon' HTC android phone.

However, often when you want to look at something in detail, it's in bad focus.

With the cameraphones these days, you would think that there would be some better pictures.

Of course, this is a HTC phone, and if the guy had a HTC phone himself - say no more ;)

Can't help but agree with that. Look at the worst kept SE secret - the Xperia X2. By leaking it etc, SE (if they leaked it) had a chance to guage early market opinions and hype regarding it and realised they are falling flat on their face with it... Only die-hard SE / winmo fans will actually buy it... Had the hype been a lot better, i believe we would have seen it announced and released earlier.

Interestingly, Apple don't leak much at all. In fact, they are almost maniacal in their secrecy, famously closing down independent Apple fanboy websites that have leaked news etc.

Apparently they have a bunch of announcements coming this week as Windows 7 "spoilers", and it's thought that they may announce a connected netbook/ebook reader, but this is all speculation based on a huge order they made for 7" screens that leaked out.

there was a mention on the news today regarding the e-readers for google books. Funny that the guy they interviewed stated the current readers weren't that great and to watch out for the 'ipod' version.
The microsoft 'courier' looks very cool

If you're into ebooks, check out this little blob of brilliance, just released:

New 'nook' ebook is a game-changer | News | TechRadar UK

It's got WiFi and 3G, and a part of the screen is colour too. All they need to do is to let it make phone calls & play MP3s.....
