Check latest firmware versions for your phone ONLINE
At first... Sorry if this is not the correct section some sites have sections for firmware issues and others don't and I left it here because I didn't know where to put it... So feel free to move it if this section is not the correct one...
Hi guys... I've managed to develop a simple site that let's you check the latest firmware version for nokia phones... I started working on this so as to make a simple way of knowing when n97 will get v2.0 but what i've done up to know works for any nokia phone... I know it is very similar to Navifirm... In fact... it's based on navifirm and it uses the same services and the info comes directly from the NSU servers... i will be adding more things to this... maybe email advisory, product codes and better interface but it's my first work and i've done it in a couple of hours... (6hs to be more precise... lol) The link is: http://www.btusers.com.ar/nan/nokia/ It has some pretty features... You can check for certain products and there's an RSS available so that you can use it in your mobile phone to now when you have an update or in your favourite RSS reader... As examples I leave here 3 links that work to check N97 firmwares... Well something seems to be happening at NSU servers... they are now not working and because of that, the site is not working...
Maybe new release? Hope it's v2!

Interesting. Is this not the same as Dave Cozens Widget for checking firmware updat availability?

I did this because I couldn't found nothing that suited for what I wanted... If it has been already done, I'm sorry... :S

Site has been updated...
Now you can get the product codes for the different firmware versions and you are able to download the files... There's also a new RSS that it's able to inform you of the latest firmware for YOUR product code... If you scroll to the bottom you'll see some buttons that will generate links for what you want... Hope you enjoy it and please leave your comments... They are important for me...
