Interesting yet sad review. It was given hype it could never live up to with the specifications it had. It was also outrageously overpriced, twice as much as netbooks with the same power and with little benefit to it's most widely lauded feature, batterylife.

A very honest review, thanks Micky...
You say in it that: "...I, like many others, are really hoping that Nokia shifts up a gear, and starts to move with momentum to catch up with the ever changing world marketplace." I don't think that's quite right, they don't need to shift up a gear so much as they need to try and get the Nokia-Wagon out of reverse first! Shifting into neutral would be a good start, then they can go through the gears and hopefully come up with something as far advanced as the N95 once was, compared to the competition. Their bread & butter sales may well be massive in the lower end of the market but they need to command a respectable position in the top echelons too, in order to preserve and publicise their good name & reputation as a phone-producer, diversification isn't helping their cause at all, as far as I can tell.

I cam across a review of it with Ubuntu installed yesterday; apparently much better than Win 7, but still sluggish:
Nokia Booklet 3G review | Linux User Interesting point they make about the pricing - whether you buy standalone or with a 3G contract. I'll be sticking with my Sammy NC10 for the time being. |
