re: The 'Turn & Slide' concept...

"A turning part of the device can rotate around a pivotal axis in an angle range, e.g., from a first position to a second position by a predetermined angle, the turning part is being pivotally connected to a first part (e.g., a base) of the device, thus opening the device by sliding a second part (e.g., a lid) from an initial position to a further position using an adjusting mechanism. The first part may comprise a first functional area and the second part may comprise a second functional area located on an exposed surface of the second part, wherein the second part is configured to cover the first functional area in the initial position and to reveal the first functional area in the second position."

Simple, eh... And this is to be manufactured by a company that can't even produce a consistently wobble-free two-way slider ?!?

Oh Boy!

I had a pebl. Designwise, I think it was the nicest phone I ever owned, I loved it.

Sadly, the 2MB unexpandable memory, and motorola interface (titanically s**t) made me sell it 2 months after. I still say Id buy one if I could have transferred my current phones innards and OS into it.

Potentially, not all clamshells are bad. Unfortunatly, nokias efforts have been shocking.

Ive seen quite a few fake nokias out. Someone does a picture, and all hell breaks loose.

I would buy a Nokia Touchscreen device OMG imagine the possibilities, but the problem comes when having a touchscreen device, how would you feel the Play button? the numbers? that's a con when it comes to full touchscreen devices.

There's been talk of a new type of Nokia touch-screen with tactile feedback, which would perhaps solve your problem! :)

I'm not too sure if I'll ever get to like touch-screens. I keep thinking about dodgy laptop mouse alternatives (old tech I know), then there is the thought that if they were that useful PCs would have them - even if they were just for mouse or drawing tool alternatives. Tactile feedback? Not sure. I'm a sort of apology for a musician and prefer to do the tactile bit myself.

Luddite? Probably, but open to persuasion!
