Will a UK purchased Lumia 800 work in the USA?

Hi, my beloved HTC HD2 is slowly dying (which is upsetting, it's brilliant), so I'm considering moving over to WP7. However, I may be going to the USA for an extended period of time (possibly forever), so I need to know if it would work over there with a US sim card.

It should work fine in the US. Only thing missing will be 3G functionality on T-Mobile USA since the Lumia 800 does not support that frequency.

I am goint to the States for a two weeks holiday and was wondering if my Lumia 800 will work over there without the need to change the sim card or anything else as all I will want to do over there is call my wife who will be probably shopping somewhere over there with me. Can any one help with some info on this point. I am on Orange on a contract if thats any help. Many Thanks DuwDuw

Same answer applies as above. You just need to make sure that you have roaming activated on both your accounts with Orange. Check the costs of using Orange in the USA so that you are not surprised by a massive bill when you get back.

Bear in mind that calling your wife is the same as calling the UK regardless that you are both in the USA.
