To shift this series of smartphones coming their way to the Nokia world, yes, I'm waiting for the Lumia 900's launch here in Germany..
Previously, decided to save cash and wait for Nokia's WP8 flagship, but I really can't live with the HD7 anymore.. For a tech enthusiast like me, it's a really outdated gadget by now!
And then, it has some major shortmings, most obviously and disturbingly is the camera of course which I can't even use for basic stuff like making a legible photo of some paper work as a reminder or to upload to social network.. It's beyond me how HTC did manage to come up with such a horrible camera really!! I'd take even an EDoF over this!! That's not to mention the camera button that needs some finger muscle training courses to get to use it!! And of course the ultra terrible display..
But it was one faithful handset that really grew on me with time and surprising me with its reliability as I dropped it big on many occasions (wasn't meant to be my primary phone when I first got it), yet showed no obvious scratches, and no faults!! Despite the squeaking and flimsy battery cover, and funny hard plastic sides..
When I got this phone, it was just because Nokia turned to WP. It was a real bargain, and I thought I would give it a go and sell it in few weeks when I'm done with it.. Main purpose was to get to know WP of course and decide between it and Android.. However, and specially with the Mango announcement back then, WP amazed me! And the thought of this excellent and highly promising piece of software blended with Nokia's hardware and some popular useful services of theirs stuck in my mind and kept me from making the Android jump despite being tempted by trying a GSII for a week..
Anyway, now it's time to jump into the Lumia wagon.. And the Lumia 900 isn't really the ultimate smartphone out there, but for me, it fits my needs better than Android does, and it has its own big unique pluses anyway.. Specially the fact that I'm totally sold by W8 and heading into a W8 convertible/hybrid at the end of the year..
Early adopters always make big calls, and make some sacrificers and of course some risks as I might end up joining the Droid army in case this whole project doesn't work well for MS and Nokia after all..
But totally ready for the adventure.
I love Windows Phone. Absolutely love what Nokia are doing since switching to WP, and have big faith into where they are heading to..
Enough for this post. Looking forward to review the beast when I finally get my hands on it.
