Default N95 what have I bought

I recently purchased an unlocked asia version of the N95 from a power seller on eBay. The phone seems a little strange to me. My biggest concern with the phone is that the camera menu's are nothing like the manual and quite honestly the highest resolution is 640x480 which produces at the high seeting images that afre 96dpi.

I can't believe someone would go to the trouble of duplicating cases and screens etc for a $400 phone. Th phone works, but the reason I got it was for the 5 megapixel camera and this is no where near as advertised.

The camera lens shows Carl Zeiss optics and 5 megapixels. Also the zoom funtion only works if I select 320x24- images.

does anyone know what gives with this N95?

Thanks

Here is a link to ebay

The lack of GPS and wifi was the indicator that it was fake.

A ton of people go to the trouble of faking Nokia phones. Its amazing some one with such a high feedback could sell fakes.

Yep. Definitely a fake, sorry man.

The auction also lists it as s 3.2 Mpix camera.

If you paid paypal you would be protected from this, and also you could report them to Ebay. They are stating it is a Nokia N95 but indeed it is not because it is a fake. The auction itself is a lie.

Dude...did you even read the product description at all? I'm sorry you got scammed and everything. But there are some fairly obvious signs its a scam:

1)The Specs Don't Match
-The listing clearly states that this "version" doesn't have WIFI or GPS
-No mention of the 2100 Mhz band
-3.2 Mega Pixel Camera

2) There is no picture

3) There is no such thing as the "Asian version", the N95 has slight firmware differences for every country in the world. If there was such a thing as the "Asian version", then google should be able to confirm its existence and authenticy.

4) Price, if it is too good to be true then it is a scam.

I tell you these things not to rub it in, but in the hopes that you won't be scammed in the future. Also, reputable retailers of Nokia products include Dell, Walmart, Nokia, Target, Best Buy Mobile, Comp USA etc etc.

You're correct, Mariokarter- except for one point. While there is no "asian version" exactly, there is a little known Chinese variant without wifi, not sure about GPS though- I believe that is intact on the Chinese model.
