Now this is interesting (to me)

N85 refresh. Quadband GSM, HSDPA, 5MP camera with xenon flash, 8-16GB ROM, analog joystick, integrated compass, stereo speakers, GPS, WiFi

Xenon flash? Onboard memory (with card slot also?), integrated compass (perhaps like the 6210 navigator with magnometer).

Plus, they will have hopefully ironed out bugs, like camera noise and the slider.

TBH, thats **** near my perfect phone.

It is interesting about Nokias leaks. TBH Im sure that most of them are either deliberate, or not bothered about.

However, this one Im pretty sure Nokia did not want out in the open.

Edit:

Actually, I have my doubts about that 'leak'. For starters, some of those dates seem odd. And secondly, I know that the E66's codename was actually 'Dora', not Dawn.

Yeah that's true enough, but phones get updated all the time, it's just the way it is.

It will still be some months until it gets released, but my contract was up for renewal NOW and I'm waaaaay too impatient and excitable to wait!

Hmm.

This produces a lot of questions and thoughts.

Assuming its true (and I am doubting that more and more), there is extremely little point to the N96 if there is a N85 with mass memory built in. But thats also assuming they dont do away with the card slot, ala N95 8GB.

Another thing to note is that it reads as completed. So why is it not for release, or announced? Well, the only answer to that is that Nokia do what some speculated on a while back.

They make these upgraded models at almost the same time as the original ones (N95 classic - N95 8GB, N85 - errr, N85 16GB?) but do not release them due to letting the original model sell.

But, heres why I think its not real.

Product codename being wrong for the E66.

Dates look very odd to me.

The N85 upgrade - why on earth would they destroy the N96 so much, adding mass memory to the N85 would pretty much bury any reason for getting the N96.

Another N85 upgrade - the inbuilt compass (magnometer). This just seems totally wrong for something they would add to an upgraded device, it just doesnt fit in at all.

Yet another N85 upgrade - again, this makes no sense whatsoever. While most would certainly prefer it, just like the inbuilt compass, it doesnt fit in as an upgrade to an existing model.

I hope Im wrong, because that list looks good. But thats another reason I doubt it. It just looks a little too good.

All of the devices mentioned in this leak are not upcoming, some have been abandoned, and others changed, after all, they are prototype documents, which all, is subject to change, hence the grey credibility.

Aye, but the N85 refresh says still in development.

Still, Id absolutly love it if that version of the N85 did come out. That would be absolutly amazing, but the price would have to be at least that of the N96, if not higher.

Ah, Im judging that the list is resonably old...the N79 is listed as still being in development.

I'd love to get excited over the "N85 Refresh" as that will be the complete mobile phone for me.

But I've learnt not to get excited over these things, as it usually leads to disappointment.
