Looks vs. Features

right now im having a tough time replacing my my beloved n95-1. its because i dont see any other device that can replace it's amazing features and nice looks. so i thought might as well get the repackaged n95, the n85. but the n85 got so many reports of horrible build. wobbly sliders, keypads peeling, nav pad peeling.. then came along the n86. the specs was way better. 8mp with a 3rd gen dual led and 8gb internal memory! but the major turn off.. was the looks. i know most of you would say that the n86 looks way better than the n85. but personally i just think that the n86 looks too darn ugly. i think the n85 looks way sleek-ier than the n86. simple flat finish. its really hard trying to accept the looks of the n86. you're trying to like it, but you just cant. and its all because of the looks. but than again, the feature are really tempting..

so the question is, would you guys still buy a phone that has most of the features that you want, but not the looks that you want? please give a reason to your answer :)

Exactly the same here.

No way. The N85 definitively looks better. It's gonna be hard for the N86 to have build quality any worse than the N85, though..

However, I do prefer the looks of the N86 to the N95-1 and N95-3. That said, I would probably get it if I didn't not need an 8MP camera, didn't prefer the looks of the N85, and weren't ready for the N97 already.

If I had to choose again I'd still probably settle for the N85 now and the N97 later. The build quality is horrid but manageable; it feels toyish after a few weeks of breaking it in but if handled carefully there should be no issues.

thats the thing. im a very careful user. my n95's slider is still solid. i can even count how many times ive dropped it! about 8-9 times.. :P

i thought that maybe if i handle the phone more carefully (or maybe as careful as my n95), the build quality would still hold. the worse thing that can happen if the keypad is peeling off is to just ask nokia to glue it back.

a full featured device in a small form-factor is a beautiful thing.
