Great article from Steve Litchfield of All About Symbian showing the photo quality of the upcoming N86, pitching it against the N82.
Photos thanks to Nokia's Stefan Constantinescu Quantifying the improvements in the Nokia N86's camera

The n82 still showed true to life colors compared to the bluish tint photo created with n86's led flash.. Hate to say it but in those close-ups, n82 is still better..
Haven't seen a good comparison of outdoor shots yet... Still, n86 is still under proto when those shots were taken so there may be some improvements on the camera. yet......... Xenon on n86 is almost surely out now..hate that^^ still unconvinced on the n86. Last edited by step11angelo; 04-16-2009 at 02:10 PM. |

The nice thing is that the N86 get the Tipa award
N86 Best Mobile Imaging Device in 2009 GLOBAL - It’s only been a couple of months since the Nokia N86 8MP was unveiled, but already it’s bagged a prestigious industry award from TIPA (Technical Image Press Association). Picking up the Best Mobile Imaging Device in 2009, the N86 has instantly made a splash amongst what is viewed in photography as one of the most influential organisations. This is great news for the N86 8MP. And of course, imaging is what the device is all about. With eight megapixels to play with, big crisp images are the order of the day. But it isn’t just about pixel count. The device also packs a wide angle Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, which enables users to shoot panoramic shots. Every snap can be Geotagged and it’s easy to upload them to online photo sharing sites such as Ovi or Flickr. I find this news of the kickstand on the N86 from Symbian Guru
While exploring the Nokia N86 8MP hosted on Forum Nokia’s RDA recently, I found something rather cool, buried away in the settings menus. Apparently, the kickstand on the Nokia N86 8MP is actively connected to the phone, unlike the N96’s, which was simply a piece of plastic. The N86 8MP’s kickstand is able to launch any application on the phone whenever you pop it out, which is definitely a cool little feature. You can set this kickstand to launch any number of handy applications, such as the video player, photo browser, or messaging. This could be awesome if you have it set to open the video player quickly, or for you guys in the U.K., the BBC iPlayer that’s sure to be available. I would likely have mine set to open Mobbler, so that I could quickly start streaming music when I flip that kickstand open. What application would you set your kickstand to, if you had the Nokia N86 8MP? From Nokia N86 8MP’s Kickstand Is Active | Symbian-Guru.com
