I recently lost my N95 8GB Nokia. While I found it often slow and cumbersome, I loved some of the features. I have bought a temporary replacement which acts as a phone and that's all, but so boring.
![]() I need a phone that has WiFi, preferably 3.5G for fast internet, GPS, MP3, and at least 5 Megapixel camera. There are probably other things that are important but I cant think of them at present. I have checked out the Nokia site, and these seem all similar in ability. The N95 was often slow, and it was bulky, I think I prefer the feel of the N85 or N86. Interested in any thoughts on these and other models. Perhaps there are others I should look at? |

you could wait for the n86/n97 to be released if your interested in them. if you want a replacement now, id go for the n85.
the n96 isnt much of an upgrade imo. its practically the same, bar the 16gb flash memory. the n85 on the other hand is smaller, has a better albeit slightly smaller screen, fm transmitter. dont forget that the n96 battery is smaller than the n85/n95 8gb, so battery life will be noticably less if you opt for the n85. if youve got the money, id wait for the n86/n97. im not a fan of the n97, you might be though. if you find its a bit too much money for them though, definitely go with the n85 as itll be considerably cheaper + you can get them 2nd hand now. |

you really need to figure out what you would use the most on your phone. i think out of the ones you listed i would go for the n86 which has had great reviews.but like i said ,figure out what your phone preferences are and the right model will find you

Yeah, as said above, the best thing right now would be to wait for the n85 or n97 which ever you prefer
I bought an N79 a while ago I really liked the n85 but the build quality issues turned me away The N79 is solid though, very good build quality. The only niggle I have is that the silver trim gets pressed in towards the keypad at the bottom when a string force is applies, but apart from that its great Dropped it a few times on concrete only got scratched, and Nokia recently released v20 firmware which should fix even more bugs Hope this helps ;) |

The N85 is a great phone, the N97 isnt out yet so dunno how it'll actually perform but it sure does look tempting

n95 8GB is the best one from its pattern, but as it is a slide phone, the winding displacement easily is broken.
Everyone has his own appetite. |

N95 will always be the king of Nokia's cache. Even though it is pretty slow by today's standards, and painfully outdated, it is still a very desirable device. The N86 has some nice features, and its 434mhz CPU should be way faster than the dual 330mhz in the N95. None of the new Nokia's can do 3D like the older OMAP CPUs, though, and if you were one of the rare people who used it, than none of the current solutions are going to be good enough for you. For a straight up replacement, and a nice upgrade... I'd go for the N86. It's going to be faster, newer, and has a killer camera. If you want the current hotness and can deal with its quirks, the N97 may also be a viable choice. I wouldn't even bother with the N96. Ever since the N85/N86 were released it has been completely left in the dust.
