Help !
I have had Blackberry's for a while and have had Nokia's on and off for over 10 years ! I am thinking of buying a N900 ? Did like the Blackberry Storm 1 but then made a mistake and got a iPhone 3gs 32gb. I know !!! Well it lasted 3 weeks ! now getting rid of it . But I can't decide to get a Storm 2 which does not appear to be much different to the 1st one ! I have heard the new Nokia N900 which is also coming soon is very good I just cannot decide !!! Any advice ? thanks Chris |

Whilst the Storm 2 is reported as being an improvement on the first version, it's still just a 'smartphone'... Whereas the N900 can probably best be described as a mini-computer with a full-function phone built-in.
It depends on how you intend to use each device, the Storm 2 being relatively straightforward to use 'out of the box' and the N900 being potentially far more versatile, always assuming that it becomes popular and that the software is both adapted and also developed for its use... Which, judging by the backing being put into developer projects by Nokia, seems to be very likely.

The only thing that was upgraded (as far as I know) on the Storm II is the screen and the haptic feedback which now uses quartz crystals and 4 motors.
The software's not so good on the BB storm. If you can live without MMS for a month or two then get the N900, it's worth it (btw running the SDK on my laptop, I can see how it (my lappy) is slower than the N900, even though it's a 1.7GHz one with 1GB physical RAM and 512MB swap) |

N900's battery is a little disappointing to say at least.
BL-5J 3.7V 1320mAh 1320mAh is even less than on the N97 which is at 1500mAh |

The software and the ARM-Cortex-8 allow it to use the battery effeciently. So you can expect to get the same standby time as on the N97.
