Transfer (backup) data from Nokia N95 to N9?

Hi everyone, it has been awhile how you all doing? Since early 2008 I have always remained with my N95 and probably up til now where I have purchased a Nokia N9. I was wanting to take my backup from my Nokia N95 and transfer it to my Nokia N9 as I have discovered that Nokia Suite (shamefully) does not support the phone which really mind boggles me, arent they supporting it or anything? They don't even have any proper or official support pages for the phone or any software for it.

Thus, I was wondering, can this be done may I ask? I would really appreciate it

You should be able to transfer contacts, calendar, tasks, notes over bluetooth, worked for me with my N8, not 100% sure for the N95 though. The backup software available for the N9 is called Nokia Link, you can find that on the N9 support pages here, along with the Nokia Software Updater which supports the N9: Nokia Europe - Nokia N9

You can also get Nokia Suite to work with the N9, the procedure is described here: How to get your Nokia N9 working w/Nokia Suite 3.2.100 Everything N9

Hi again, I have tried doing that and it had successfully worked! However eecently I have accidentally cracked my Nokia N9 and for a month I have been using my good old N95 once again. Now that I have my Nokia N9 alive once again I would liked to transfer all the new contacts and messages that I had on my N95 during the month I've had it, however when I tried doing so via. Bluetooth as you suggested, there was a problem. It manages to copy the contacts after two attempts (I thought that would've been the end of the problem I had) then when it came to trying to copy over the text messages it gave me the error message 'Some data not copied' and it claims that the bluetooth has been disconnected when clearly it hasnt. I have tried restarting the transfer many times and had no luck!

Do you or anyone know why this has happened by any chance? The 'Some data not copied' error happened when I tried with the contacts on the first attempt and it felt liked if I have done something wrong but ti worked the second time, it's only when it came to the text messages it just fails and it's only 22 altogether.

Hope someone can help me on this, I wonder if anyone has came acrss the same problem?

The latest version of Nokia Suite supports N9. You can try to sync text messages from N95 to Nokia Suite and then from Nokia Suite to N9.

Hi 93tid, long time no hear. I am back on this because my N9 broke for awhile and I just got it repaired today!

Now I am in the process of transferring my contacts and messages from my N95 once again. I have the latest version of Nokia Suite (which I am very happy that it supports the N9 now), and whilst the contacts were synced and transfered, for some strange reason the messages does not at all! Why is this may i ask?

I know the other alternative is to Sync the phones via. Bluetooth and do it through the N9's Import contacts and select Text MEssages out of the options. Right now, that is not working at all either and I feel this isnt going to work at all (or for awhile).

How can I get the messages to Sync and transfer in Nokia Suite? surely this shouldnt be such a problem now

I honestly don't know why it's not working for you, I had no problems but I only keep less than 10 text messages anyway - I have never been able to understand the need to store thousands of messages dating back 7 years, etc. You can have a look around the Maemo/Meego forum, maybe there's more advice there.
