Default Thinking of buying an Unlocked N-Series phone; Advice appreciated!

Hey everyone, my current phone contract is getting ready to run out and I'm thinking about buying an N70 as my next phone. I'm living in a city in America where it isn't offered so I think I will have to get it unlocked. I realize that the N70 came out a few years ago but I am looking for a phone without too high a price. Is there another phone I should be considering instead? Any N70 users willing to share their opinions on their phones? I've read reviews on it from 2005 but was just wondering how it has held up. Thanks to anyone in advance!

I own an N95, but i would suggest to you (price wise) an N73.
Its pretty much in the middle and a very nice and easy to use phone.

I looked up the N73 and it looks great. It looks like such an upgrade over the N70, and newer, too. Thanks so much for your input, mcbain. Would you think buying one today would make sense though? In other words, do you see it being a good phone a few years from now? I really don't have any experience with getting unlocked Nokias, so I am somewhat hesitant to buy one if something might happen to it and then maybe have cell phone service contract issues. Are these fears unfounded? Sorry for long post; I really appreciate the input if you feel like sharing it.

Well to be honest, there's always new phones coming out, but i would see it as still being pretty competitive in say a years time. I still see plenty of people using phones from the 90's to early 2000's and not fussed about it. So yeah, i see it lasting. Just try and buy one outright from a Nokia dealer, or somewhere that at least will offer some sort of warranty with it.

The 6120 is really cheap nowadays.

I would not get the N73. I don't ever want to deal with the pop port again.

mcbain: Alright, cool, thanks a lot for the info. Yeah, I will definitely try and buy one from a place that has a warranty of some kind. Is it normal to have to buy these phones over the internet? No place in the city where I live sells unlocked phones of any kind.

Doc Tran: Thanks, I'll definitely look into the 6120. What is the pop port you're talking about? I'm not familiar with that term. It's worth not buying the phone over?

Doc, i thought N73 is Mini USB, not pop-port.
I assume thats what you mean, the connection port?
I'll check out my friends N73 at lunch today.

And Industry, there are a few good places to buy on the net.
Although lately i'd tell you to steer clear of ebay, just to be sure you dont get a fake phone that CLAIMS to be genuine.
