I think Nokia has hammered out the issues with the sliders- the N81 has a redesigned mechanism, and it's really solid. Sliders don't just look cooler, they also obviously allow for a smaller footprint of the device.

The buttons kinda scare me on the N82 as well... I don't know how much I'd like that.

Rumor.

And for what it's worth- apparently there are still build quality issues with the N81.

Really?.
Im guessing the N81 will have the most smoothest sliding mechanism ever built on a phone!...well on a nokia to be precise lol.

Im sure that it will be smoother than the N95, why i'm even im suspecting that they never even put much effort into smoothening-up the slide on the N95, thats probably why there were issues with it.
Lets hope that the N81 has it's slide up to scratch!.

Here you go;http://www.techfiends.com/node/49

Thank heavens it isn't white, it looks too much like a SE as it is!

Due to be announced this Friday, I'll keep my fingers crossed...

Thanks for the link.
I actually think it looks a bit more unappealing in black rather than white; it looks cooler in white.
But in general it doesn't look appealing anyway lol.
Despite it having everything the N95 has except for one, the beautiful Xenon flash.
For some peaople the larger screen makes up for it but for others they would rather have the Xenon flash.

For me it's a difficult choice!, i love large screens...and i love Xenon flashes.
Seeing that 2.4" is still as large as it is i would have to go for the Xenon flash...(sigh).

Yeah it kind of stinks that the screen is tiny on the n82, but I like my candybars. Hopefully it will actually come out in white, it would look better. But overall I think the look will turn out ok as long as they remove that stupid oval thing. It will be the "sleeper" of cell phones, with that huge feature set packed into that casual candybar look.
