Just curious, thought you were hoping for one to be opened nearest to you.
The only cities i vaguely know where there will be Nokia flagship stores are in NYC, Chicago and Mexico city.
I really can't wait for the flagship stores to open though, who knows they may even sell great accessories that really complement our devices!.
Like that much-debated battery cover that would accomodate the bigger battery, doubt there will be such a thing though.
Let's just be optimistic

So for those reasons I figured that those cities would be the logical next steps.

I was thinking about how rubbish the N95-1's battery life was and then thought to myself since the N82 is going to be a great contender to the N95, will the battery life be improved, aswell as the RAM?.
Do you guys know vaguely the figures for both of these?
Guessing that the N82 will be better in both of these...

Hey, Mickey. What do you mean about the gaming options of the N82? I think I'd prefer the N95 for gaming due to the form factor and the larger screen.
I personally vastly prefer the N95 over the N82 on several count- 1. Form factor. I love my sliders. Even given the lack of reliable build quality, I prefer the larger screen that a slider allows. Having that large of an area dedicated to a numeric keypad on the front of my "multimedia computer" just seems like I've got a phone dressed with the cheap tinsel of mega-convergence- in the end, it's a phone with a great cam and other bits of techy-grandeur. With the larger screen of my N95, and a dual slider- my N95 truly feels like the "multimedia computer" it is billed as. The design of the N95 is one of beauty in my eyes- the N82 far from it. The massive glossy landing area for fingerprint and other various greases is design-over-function, as is the ridiculous keypad, and the fact that the thing can't stand on it's side for self/group portraits. Why even include the self-timer if you can't place the thing on it's side. Another point of design over function. The designers were more concerned about how it feels in your hand then how it works in the real world- and this is apparent in a number of areas.
That being said- the N82 has xenon flash and proper lens protections. Two items which I covet greatly.
The ultimate decision is obviously up to you- but the keypad was the deal breaker for me, and well... no US 3G, which I go through on the order of half a dozen gigs a month. 3G not being an issue, I think I'd have a genuinely hard time deciding between the two right now. The xenon flash is amazing, and after being an N95-1 (global variant) with a lens slider to the N95-3 without such an effort put forward to facilitate a quicker, better, cleaner photographic experience- the lens cover is a sorely missed feature on my NAM variant N95.
So that's a couple things to think about from my point of view.

yeah the xenon and lens cover is really the only significant diference for me (because rogers has taken 3g out of the equation). Other than that its just preference, do you plan on using data a lot?

Battery lasts much longer and more RAM as well.
And i get a GPS lock in a matter of seconds on the N82.

With AGPS, I get a lock on the N95 just as fast as the N82.

lol...Mr G is a junior over here...
My friend lent me his N92 for a week the other day. and after using it, i have to say.......................
.......... i'm glad i stuck with the N95-1!
NO offense G, but besides the Xenon flash there, the n82 isnt my cuppa coffee. The default autorotation is truely horrible and slow. It is as slower as the applications pyRotation or something liek that.
Smaller screen also kinda bugs me, though i didnt realy notice it untill it was beside my N95. I have to say the numeric keys were a lot easier to press and easy to use than i would've expected. The multimedia keys was a bit difficult to press though, ended up with the red key instead most of the time.
