Wondering the same thing about the screen and faceplate
From Lucky:
There must be someone out there who has tried it or is at least thinking about trying it. I love my N95-3 but wished it had a bigger screen to view my tv broadcasts with using slingplayer. I am sure a lot of people out there feel the same way but I am wondering if anyone has tried it. I know they sell N95-4 replacement screens out there as well as OEM faceplates and housing. Are the display connectors the same on the N95-3 and N95-4? Would I only need to change the top faceplate to fit the larger screen? Will the N95-3 firmware work with the N95-4 screen? It sounds like they are the same resolution just different size. Wouldn't it be like changing your LCD monitor on your PC to a bigger size without changing the resolution?

Hoping there are some Nokia tech guys on here that may know the answer or at least some of you N95 multiversion owners out there who have taken apart your Nokias to change faceplates/screens etc. that could tell me if this is something that is feasible.
I'm hoping that someone or anybody has come up with an answer to the question you posed about switching the screen on the N95 to a bigger one. I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. I even wondered about switching the faceplate to a complete different style and not just switching the faceplate for just colour purposes.
My cousin had a problem with his N80. We opened the phone to switch screens and found that the screen is detachable. Therefore, if a new screen with the same connection is available then a new screen can replace the original one. I don't see why the new screen has to be the same size as the original one. However, I do realise that such modification would mean that a new body would have to replace the original one. Just as you mention switching LCD screens for monitors. It would be the same as replacing a desktop casing with a new casing as well.
Has anyone made progress on this possibility?
