N85 or 5800?
Ok as some of you may have read in the N85 forum, my N85 took a dip in the bog at work and blew
. However today my insurance have settled up ( Cheers Barclays ) and are sending me a Brand New N85. Now I'm torn, do I leave it and sell it brand new and get the 5800 or do I stick with the N85? Also what will the N97 do better than the 5800? As far as I'm aware the 5800 is a fully fledged symbian Phone? True? Anyhow your advice will be apppreciated.

Personally I think its your own personal preference.
The N97 Vs. 5800 is incomparable as simply any 'N Series' is supposed to be the elite Nokia product range. So feature wise, the N97 will trump the 5800 however, its form factor and size will be greater and it has a keyboard. Some like physical keyboards and some people dont. Price is another factor. The N97 will have a better camera, better battery life and bigger internal capacity. And theres the whole widget interface for the home screen which allows incoming social feeds etc.. Otherwise from what I gather its quite similiar to the 5800. The 5800 is a fully fledged S60v5 device yes and to compare it with the N85 is quite hard. Maybe you should head into a shop and try out the 5800 or try out a mates and see which you feel is more comfortable. I'd prefer the 5800 personally as its new, touch screen and is a fantastic device at the value its being sold.

even although I have a 5800 on the way I will still be keeping the N85 as it does have some features that the 5800 simply will never match !
The main reasons for getting the 5800 are :- Browsing (god how I loved browsing on the 2 5800s I had for a few days) texting (see above) Navigation - the maps applications are so nice seen on the screen of the 5800 although the N85 is also nice in this department due to the oled Music , the music quality is simply stunning ! Reasons for keeping the N85 Form factor , the N85 is such a nice tidy device and feels great in the hand Camera - since upgrading to V11 the camera quality has been superb , 2nd only to my N82 Video camera - quite simply the N85 takes the best video with sound of any of my devices including the N82 ,N95-2 and 5800. Battery life - quite simply there is not another high end device I have used that offers such good battery life The FM transmittor is also fun although I personally do not use it much |
