If you like pictures then no.
If you can put up with a touch screen then yes. I would take a N95-85 any day over this if it had a good slider. Will be waiting to see if they bring out a better camera for this 5800 before I think about selling this.

Can't say I've ever looked back. Yeah the photo's aren't great, but for £200 I can't complain. Its a camera phone at the end of the day, not a compact camera. Picked up my N85 again the other day to sort out for the wife and I was slightly missing a slider and keypad, but the idea went straight out my head when I thought about the screen. I'm so used to having the large screen now, and I've gotten so used to the touch interface I was actually struggling getting reaquainted with the keypad on the N85 whilst setting it up! The large screen is superb for GPS SatNav which I use my phone for alot.
For Nokia's first touch screen phone, I think its superb and the price was right too. The sales figures answer your question alone. |

I picked up my N82 the other day and the screen looked so small and it just felt strange tapping the keys....i put it back in the drawer.
Yeah the cam's not the best but i think it's pretty good in daylight but in low light it's not that great at all.....everything else i love though.

Because the screen is "resistive" rather than "capacitive" (as per the ipod touch/iphone) then a physical "press" is needed to highlight, and then another to select. I don't have a prob with it, other than when texting, as I do find the Apple screens to be a lot more sensitive and accurate. Biggie is the camera AND video quality for me - falls way behind my N95 8Gb and my N96, which rule it out completely as my main phone..

That's too much! Disregard the 8GB card as a selling-point, they come with an 8GB card anyway...

Especially if it's nokia ones. TBH, I wouldn't use a nokia one, I simply don't trust them.
I won't be going back to a non touchscreen, the 5800 has really been an eye opener for me. Bar the camera, theres very little wrong with it. And the camera isn't *that* bad, it's just rubbish in low light. It's still good enough for catching that rare, odd moment when something unexpected happens. My uncle had a go on it last weekend. After ten minutes he went back to using his N95 8GB, and he was touching the screen, much to my amusment. He now has a 5800. |
