The movement is that of your finger, stroking up or down the page, not the movement of the phone itself.

The page continues to scroll after the pressure is removed, the extent of the scrolling before stopping, being dependent on the speed of the finger-stroke used.

Hard to describe but once used (as on the N97), badly missed when no longer available.

@gavin, perhaps I am misunderstanding then. I thought it was just the process of touching the screen and dragging to scroll, as opposed to using the microscopic scroll bars.

It is a strange name though as kinetic is probably not the most accurate name.

Isn't it?
It's the same way you scroll on the iPhone and in the Nokia browser.

It is a great Mistake!
There is not a new firmware for our nokia!!!

I am so disappointed... N97 New firmware was released... N96 new firmware was released..sigh!

I am waiting for a better look of the home, perhaps like N97 or perhaps like the new 5530.. Because it seems that the 5530 has a home better than the 5800!!! It is not fair!!

Just because a FW wasn't released it doesn't mean there wont be one.

Give Nokia a chance! They have had to get the N97 FW out....more of a priority for them! I'm sure there won't be too long a wait!

V21 wasn't "decent" ?

I've not seen any genuine SW issues related to V21 on handsets brought here

first of all The home.. isn't totally configurable like N97 or the future 5530!!

The absence of widgets... the problem whit scrolling... the slow performance of photo viewer.. the performance of photo-camera whit slow light... the slow of GPS...

sigh..5800 is very unlucky phone ... so much potential so little exploited!!!
