congrats to your wife on qualifacation to the olympics i hope she does well mate , it doesnt seem like any of the uk stores will be stocking the 808 at the minute dude due to network operators saying no etc
however while your hear hopefully amazon uk will have stock and you can do next day special delivery for about £7/£8 extra
there is also play.com and clove and handtec etc who all should be stocking it asap :-) i'd personally go amazon their 30 day money back gurantee is enough to make me buy from them everytime their customer service is the best ive ever had from an online store and returns are easy if a fault pops up :-)
I live here in the UK and can't get a hold of one!! -Good luck!
-Tried Amazon and my order was delayed due to stock shortage. - Tried ebay and all the sellers are really only preorders.
Tried the networks including Carphone Warehouse and nobody is stocking the Pureview.
Let me know if you actually manage to get one!!
PS- good luck to your wife- what event is she in??
I'd second what buxz777 said, and opt for Amazon.co.uk, because of their returns policy. They are usually reasonably price competitive too.
You won't be able to pick one up in high street stores as the networks aren't supporting the 808 at all. Carphone Warehouse, which sells unlocked, unbranded phones still only sell handsets supported by the carriers.
Good luck to Mrs. Cambo. If she's in 10m diving, weightlifting or greco-roman wrestling (!!!) I may see her, as those are the events I've got tickets for.
thanks mate will let you know. my wife is boxing. i am the national coach
here is a link with some info on her

am really hoping to get the phone in time for the opening ceremony
Based on the current Amazon status I wouldn't hold my breath:

My "backup" phone is a Constellation.
If you read the comments section of that link someone called up Amazon and was told the phone would be arriving into their warehouses today to be processed and those who have pre-ordered will have theirs shipped out asap. As for their 808 Pureview webpage, they can't meet demand hence their current status.
It looks like I will get it thru, ironically, a new Zealand site which gets them from Hong Kong.they can ship it direct to me.I should know later today.
That sounds like good news for you.
Should've guessed what sport your wife was competing in from your avatar, by the way
You don't coach Sonny Bill Williams by any chance?

If you are still having trouble getting hold of one I just received mine today out of Singapore from this crowd. Buy Nokia 808 PureView at cheapest price in Singapore Australia Brunei Canada
I had mine shipped to Perth, took 2 days to my door once they had stock. Good service.
Guess you would have to pay the duty/tax when it comes in since its over the 400nzd cap.

Me Too. Pre-ordered on amazon on 14th May at 499:99. Delivery estimate Thurs 12th. Now I can retire my trusty orange N8.
My N9 has just had an update and its an amazing phone. If only the 808 had Meego, now that would be something else!!
if only nokia had pushed maemo/meego properley and got a proper eco system surrounding it from the n900 onwards then hell yeah mate pureview on a fully supported meego platform with qt support so symbian users had an upgrade path that would have been the one
infact the last nokia phone i enjoyed so much was the n900 , the thing that killed it for me , lack of proper support for at the time great hardware and a poor poor battery life , if nokia had pushed the n900 properley and carried on then we would already be looking at a three race horse and they wouldnt have had to sell their soles to microsoft to get back into the race
the thing is maemo/meego had android users and apple users paying interest , it could have nicked many many users from android because of the tinkering level etc where as microsoft may find it hard to nick android users and push them back into a closed eco system after the fredom of android/symbian etc etc
i still hold some hopes for meego with jolla picking up exactly from where the n9 left off The newly founded Jolla Ltd. will develop MeeGo smartphones - GSMArena.com news wouldnt it be gutting for nokia if jolla proved to be more succesfull then the windows platform in the next few years lmao
why nokia didnt fully support maemo/meego is beyond me maybe they know something we dont but it looked amazing and had great potenial as an o/s and with pureview tech it would have done even better
