Mate the more you play with the camera, the more it will grow on you..the phone is heavy but it feels nice in the hand, and it's pretty responsive too..

Yeah surprised me too Buxz - keen to hear your thoughts and views on the phone.

I think you`ll like it, especially the battery life and sound, and, of course, the camera!

I've just ordered one off Amazon- looked into the US models advertised on ebay and you'd likely be stung with import taxes- bringing the cost up to the Amazon price.
Looking forward to getting my Pureview tomorrow.

Thanks mate we loved it over there.
We finished fifth over all so not too bad.she lost to the eventual silver medalist..great experience and I think London should be proud of the amazing job they did of hosting the games

Yeah, the games really were great weren't they. I was a bit sceptical that London / Britain would pull it off- but they really did us all proud.

Same here, I never thought that it would go as well, and the games were fantastic, I'm just waiting for the paraolympics to start now

That's good going, congratulations to you both. NZ is definitely punching above it's weight, as it were
. Ahead of Oz in the medals table for some time too
Yes, can't wait for the paralympics to start, had withdrawl symptoms after the Olympics finished.

@ cambo
In the first post you have three very good photos.
Only the bokeh in the first two photos are a bit disappointing. For a camerphone they're great. But Nokia promised DSLR-like bokeh, and that is nothing near it.
The third photo though is amazing. Stunning. Almost unbelievable coming a cameraphone really!
Even on my D7000 I find it hard to maintain such low noise levels in such a scene!! And the D7000 is one of the best ISO performers in the whole market and the top best in its class for this area!!

I never quite understand why people talk about the battery life of the 808 - its definitely not as good as my (almost 2 year old) N8, despite that having a slightly worn battery.
Absolute best I've had is two days (morning on day 1 through to evening on day 2). Typical usage as a camera (day out at a park taking pics, around 300-350 pictures normally), and I can easily be down to under 20% by 5pm. And thats normally with the phone in off-line mode as well.
But it is a fantastic bit of kit, can't recommend it highly enough.

Same here - my N8 usually needs charging by the end of a day of normal usage but the 808 lasts until maybe/most of the time through the next day evening !
Pressing Thanks doesnt really hurt... Does it? Click it and find out!
