Your feelings on the Nokia E71

I broke my N95 out of frustration some time ago and I've been feigning for another, but with the anticipated arrival of the N96, I decided to wait, but im actually dissapppointed in that phone and the only other phone I like is the Nokia E71. I just wanted to know how everyone else felt about that phone before I murdered my pockets. Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at the other pending N series devices, N85, N79 and some that are out already N82 etc.

I personally don't like the E71, it's more of a PDA type than a phone for me.

My brother just bought this phone two weeks ago. Unlike me, his decision was mainly based on looks and the general Nokia brand. I had a play around with it, and it is definitely not a bad phone. It takes time to get used to the qwerty keypad. Well, it took me some time. In the end though, I couldn't stand it. It is useful when typing messages or browsing, but dialing a phone number is a pain. As Jaustin mentioned, it could use a better camera. If you used the camera a lot on your N95, you will absolutely hate the E71's camera. A huge step down in terms of the image quality. Overall though, a good set of functions, very good build quality and it definitely looks good. My main piece of advice would be to, actually try out the device before buying it. See if you will be able to get used to the keypad, and figure out if you will be able to live with its camera.

yeah. the keypad is not that hard to get used to. It's just the numbers. I was supposed to keep the phone for a week, while my brother was using my N95, but after three days I got too frustrated with dialing numbers. Also, I found the keys too small for me, and I don't have very large hands. I was always pressing random keys when using the phone. But, like i said earlier, on the whole, it is a very good phone.

i was just in the nokia store in new york and got to try the e71..i liked the phone even more and will definitely buy it. the keypad isn't that bad (for me). it's really thin and it feels great :) i'm gonna look for the white version for a cheaper price than in the store :)

n series and e series phones are directly suited for a specific use with the e series being focusing on corporate use.

decide which one has the most options you value the most or one which has the most felixibilty according to your use and choose appropriately.

i see a lot of people comparing the two phones but you imo, you cant really compare them in terms of what features you value the most.
