On Sunday, I connected my e71-2 to the PC Suite and it prompted me with an update too. I'm not sure if my American firmware is new, but I have 100.07.76. I'm assuming the American 200x should come soon as well.

all has gone fine and im now on v200 now to install all my stuff :)
ok few things to start off, I cannot get the hello carbide hack to work, The app runs but exits as soon as you choose 'Menu1' hopefully there is an alternative method I can use. I had a problem with slightly stuttery audio sometimes from the loudspeaker, that is still there. As is mentioned in the changelog, you can now switch to loudspeaker as soon as you start a call. There used to be a 1-2 second delay from the person picking up to the 'Loudspeaker' soft key appearing. This is a big improvement as I use the speakerphone every day The menus are much much faster and the web browser seems to render pages alot quicker. bootup time seems quicker although that may just be because I dont have anything installed yet. more as I discover it :) Last edited by maltloaf; 01-13-2009 at 08:03 AM. |

So... us NAM E71 owners are now two firmware revisions back, with no relief in sight. I sometimes wonder why Nokia even brings out NAM phones. Just stick the 850/1900 3G antenna in the Euro models and we'll still buy them. Right now I'm coasting on 100.x firmware. Sure, it's not horrible, but I'd like some of the new goodies (like the camera improvements and the reported speed increase). I changed my product code to 0567045 tonight, but my model is still reporting as RM-357 (so no updates available). Anyone know how to change that? I've only ever owned Euro/Chinese Nokias before so changing in the past was always a breeze. Also, anyone know if changing the product code and region to Euro would disable my 3G antenna in the US? (I don't think it would, but it isn't really covered anywhere). Sigh... I know N95-3 users have more to complain about, but this is sort of sad.

i dont think i would risk forcing an update onto a phone which has different hardware. You might end up with an E71 shaped brick
