Recommend an N85 seller?

Okay - I've just sold my SE C905 upgrade from O2 to finance an N85. There are of course various different sellers on eBay, a lot of whom seem reputable but are also selling non-UK models.

That might not be a problem, since I've read somewhere that UK models have more 'play' with the slider, although it could of course just be done to each specific phone.

There are also a few companies such as Play, Expansys (hmm, I think not!) and Nokia themselves direct who are selling the phone, albeit at a higher price.

Overall, can someone recommend a seller, from any source, who's supplied a sealed N85 with working FM transmitter and a good, solid slider? I accept that I'll be relying on the warranty should anything go wrong, but I want at least a basic service as long as the phone supplied is as flawless as possible, since I won't be buying directly from O2, for the first time.

Your wisdom is appreciated in advance :)

Hi schnide,

I don't really have any relevant info for you, but I am in the same position! Although, I do still have the C905....and the N85, two absolutely cracking phones....I'm split between them.

Much like you, I had to resort to ebay, for mine....and your point about relying on the warranty has alerted me, do we still have a warranty buying from ebay?? Would a warranty not require proof of receipt to activate the warranty in case of things going wrong?

And just another question, the FM transmitter...are some of them faulty?? I better go and check mine!!

Unless your certain of getting a Uk model, your warranty depends on the seller.

Since UK versions do not cost much more than ones from Play etc, Id get it from Play.com.

If anything happens to the seller, or they are untrustworthy, you are shafted for the warranty.

If you buy direct from Nokia you can get 30% cash back through quidco I think. Not sure if that's instant or in instalments though. (Probably the latter.)

It's now set to 5% from Quidco. It was 30% but they changed it downwards. I know because I'd been waiting to use it until I'd got the money for my C905, and then it plummeted..

Sorry for the misinformation regarding Quidco; I didn't realise it had dropped. 30% to 5%! That's a big difference! I'm definitely gonna stick it out for a good contract now.
