PHONES4U N85 Version?

Are PHONES4U's N85 on Orange UK models? and do they come unbranded or with the operator's gunk?...
Also to solve my "no n85 on O2" issue, i was thinking about getting the N96 on O2, selling it on Ebay, and using the money to get the N85!?! Goood Ya?!?!?!

Hmm. Wouldnt it be cheaper to get a very low priced contract from O2 without a handset? Perhaps worth bartering with them for, see what you can get. I think Logan had some silly deal offered to him.

Might save money in the long run and save the hassle of selling a phone on ebay.

Here you go, read this thread and look at the deal: http://www.n95users.com/forum/my-car...-contract.html

The PHONES4U handset is unlocked and unbranded i had it in my hand on saturday when i chose not to get it. They advertise it on o2 and vodafone in the store but after asking i was told it was only available on orange and wanted 45 a month off me. I then got up and walked off.. :(

Yes, the N85 from Phones 4u is unbranded. I called the phone people and managed to get a much sweeter deal than £45 a month though !...

I researched orange tariffs i'd like, saw a £30 which was perfect for me, rang Phones 4u and said someone had offered me the N85 free with a £30 tariff and i'd like to accept (Which they hadn't !). The lady said they're not doing the N85 for free on that tariff. So I hung up and rang back, saying the same thing to another unsuspecting chap. He said hmmm...We dont do that, but if I could get it for you would you definitely take out the contract today ? I said yes I would...He went off, spoke to manager, came back, and the rest is history as they say ! Here's the details ...

Free N85
400 minutes
Unlimited texts (Or it might be 1000 - either way it may as well be unlimited !)
£30 a month.

This tariff is perfect for my needs, and i'm really really happy with the phone ! Even found an ap for bittorrent downloads - how cool is that ?! If anyone's interested then let me know !

But, back to the point, I must say I do think your idea for getting N85 on O2 is genius ! Wish i'd had thought of that, really dont like orange - I dont get signal anywhere !

Bittorrent would cost you a fortune (and take forever) on 3G. Or are you just going to be using it over wifi?

Oh of course yeah ! I just use it on wifi, especially as I dont even have an unlimited internet package. But if you did, and assuming it wasn't ridiculously slow (which it prob would be) you could still cheakily download a track or 2 if out and about and want to listen to a particular track, then stream it to a nearby radio ... beautiful !

See i wanted the internet addon aswell lowest they would go was £45 noway was i paying that.

I do think they should get told off for advertising it on other networks when you cant get it on them... Its a obvious sales pitch to get you to ask and say no but we do it on Orange..

I too am looking for the best deal with a decent internet add on. I was going to try to stay with 3, but in 6 weeks I am completely out of contract with them anyway, so I'm keen to know what is available. Also, hoping prices may be better after Christmas.

Hi Savy

I'm not sure if you're already aware, but mobile phones direct are doing some good deals with decent internet add ons. It all depends on your needs in terms of minutes and texts, but you may find a deal that suits you ! And from feedback already posted on these forums they do seem like a reliable vendor.

Check it out:
