Question Where is the Flash Player?

The manual says the N85 has a Flash Player in the applications>media folder. It's not there. I tried to download and install Flash Lite but the phone won't let me (Error message says the application is "built in"). How do I access the Flash player?

I've had the same problem. I couldn't solve it so I installed free SkyFire browser from Skyfire: Free mobile browser. The PC web on your phone. Real fast. and now I can see flash animations, youtube clips, etc.

Thanks. I use Skyfire and mostly like it. I was looking to see if the "stealth" Flash Player would work for playiing streaming audio. More and more, radio station websites are switching to Flash-based web players. Mostly, Skyfire plays them OK but Skyfire does not seem to recognize the player controls as links and the cursor won't effect them (often I can't even get the cursor positioned right over the control icon - like, for instance, the pause or play button). Core Player does play Flash video, but apparently not Flash audio. I am able to scope out the URL for the audio streams and I was hoping the Flash player would work better for what I want to do than Skyfire does.

I've read somewhere that you suppose to get the new version of build-in Flash Player with the new firmware upgrade. I haven't check that yet coz I'm still on v11.047.

Either way. Go to Skyfire.com. Click on download. You can either download to your desktop or enter your phone number and they will send a download link to your phone. Skyfire also appears in Ovi under applications.

Do you find Skyfire to be better than the Nokia browser? Better as in faster, uses less RAM, and doesnt crash as much? Im tempted, but need convincing =]

Skyfire is free. You can try and see for yourself what you think. For straight browsing, I don't see much difference between the Nokia browser and Skyfire. Skyfire's only advantage is (some) support for Flash. For just browsing, I lean toward Opera Mini (also free). It's faster and produces less cluttered pages that are easier to read on a small screen. I prefer it to Opera Mobile ($24.00) which seems more like Nokia's browser and Skyfire (except no Flash).
