Question What phone should i get?

My N85 has just died and want to know what you boffins think I should replace it with.

I wear it around my neck ( safest place for me) and it didn't like the perspiration!!..... going to have to do it different!

I am a high user and get through most days without having to recharge.
I have large fingers and struggled with the smaller n85 keys; the n95 was great!
phone book and catagories are very handy for me.
I also use the fm transmitor , to car radio feature a fair bit.
Loading excel and word files is important too; be good if I could edit.
Liked the camera quality, voice recorder and converter too.
As I live in the country signal is important, though most nokia phones seem to have good range.
numerous open applications would be handy too without too much lag.
I enjoyed the smaller light N85 phone as anything too big would be a bit uncomfortable.

A recent survey (choice mag in australia) had the N97 rated highest with the iphone a close second.
Though I know little about it?

    what about touch phones?

    Your thoughts please

lol, all touchphones aren't reliable, I would suggest the N97, because of the fm transmitter and the needs that you listed

Why do you not suggest the N97, as seems to be the latest and theoretically the most improved phone?
Thanks re the N86, have had a look at it's specs and seems very similar to the N85? Can you please tell me the differences?
One other thing I overlooked is that I struggle with the screen on the N85 , like bieng able to see it in sunlight. The N95 was a lot better in that area.
Also what are your thoughts on the new N900 ?

Please what do you mean as all touchphones arent reliable, I thought they may be better as they would allow less moisture into the phone circuits; and we all know water and electronics dont mix.

Based on what you've said about the fm transmitter, key size and camera, I'd have to also recommend the n86. But having said that, its not exactly a lightweight phone. But nor is the n97. ...when i got my n86 i was also swaying towards the n97. But in the end it came down to personal preference; I just didn't like the look of the n97. ..my advice is to take a trip to a phone shop, and have a play with the handsets. Choosing a phone gets a whole lot easier when you've got them in your hands.

I am using Nokia N900, I love its size because i feel so much comfortable it in my pocket.
We can see regardless of device or operating system is the home screen, which is best. The sound quality is superb because of it's both the
right- and left-hand side's stereo speakers.

I went from N85 to N86 not expecting much with the specs being so similar etc.
However I can definitely say the N86 is a vast improvement over N85 after using it for a few days.

-superb camera - At last a phone that can take proper pictures in the dark.
    -build quality incl keypad
-huge improvement in speed, very snappy & responsive
    -better UI
-ovi maps and proper magnetic compass. Goodbye slow & clunky old Garmin XT.

If you're still thinking of a n97 check this out:

Get the N86 now and the N8 next after it matures.
