Any alternative to a hard reset?

Hi all, it's been a while since I posted here, but still think you're all the ones with the best answers.

I installed Belle on my N8 since it became available, and have been mostly happy with it. I do have 2 issues that I can't seem to solve, and I think I need to do a hard reset (i.e. the *#7370) or whatever it is.

1st Problem: USB on the go

I rarely used it, even with S^3 and Anna, but occasionally it was a brilliant little add-on. When someone wanted a video, song, photos that I had on my phone, I would just ask for a USB stick, and give it to them, or the other way around as well. Since Belle, it just doesn't work at all. Sometimes it just gets stuck recognising the USB stick or other device, or it says the USB device ist using too much power and disconnects.

    2nd Problem: Maps 2.0

I wanted to use the widget "my location", but it doesn't exist for me. The other one "places near me" does exist and works. Furthermore, Ovi Store constantly says there is an update for maps. I install it, it's exactly the same, and the widget doesn't work.

Does anyone have a solution to these issues, other than a hard reset?

PS, I've had the device about 15 months, and have never done a rebuild, so maybe it is just time for that.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Funny, never thought of doing that. Just reinstall through Nokia Suite, right?

Yes, I don't think the standalone NSU supports Belle yet, at least it didn't the last time I tried.

    My Maps version is 3.09 12wk09 b05
That Maps widget is a waste of space and RAM.

USB on the go seems fine.
