    speaker damage from compressed air?

in an attempt to blow out some dust from behind the camera glass of my n8, i blew some air through the speaker slot next to the camera. It didn't blow out the dust, so i removed the top and bottom caps of the phone along with the battery.
I gave up taking any more apart and put it all bac together since i still wasn't going to expose the back of the camera glass.
Now, i have a distorted sound from the loudspeaker. Could the speaker be damaged from the air compressor, or did i just coincidentally knock around some more dust on the speaker?
If it's damaged, i'll replace the speaker with one from my old, dead n95 as long as Google hasn't failed me in finding a bunch of sites that give the same part number for both phones.
Worst part of all this, the camera is still dusty.

What I think is more likely than not is that you have put it back together and somehow 'packed' some debris that is impinging on the speaker somehow. Dust alone shouldn't distort it. What concerns me is there is dust behind the camera glass.

couldn't have packed dust further in on reassembly, i never got as far as pulling the screen or board away from the back housing. Dust behind the lense surprise me, too, to a point. I do work in an incredibly dusty environment, though.

I know it's a bit late replying to this post but I thought it may warn others NOT to use compressed air to clean their N8. I did exactly the same as Alex to dust down my N8 before putting on a new cover and screen protector. The result was distorted sound from the speaker. The phone went to a Nokia repair centre for repair. They replaced the speaker but it did not cure the problem so they sent it back to Nokia who fixed it under warranty, even though it was out of warranty and I told them what I'd done. Well done Nokia!
