This topic needs an "up"!

Come on guys. What's the battery life on your N82's? Pleaaase post !

I really wanted to know this before buying the N82 and I could't find this info on this forum:rolleyes:

For me it's too late. I'll take the N82 regardless of the battery:D

But we may help others join the " N82 brotherhood :D "

How long is a piece of string?

There are far too many variables involved to give an accurate time, some of which are network dependant and we have no control over. For example how far away from a cell base you are will depend how much power the phone will use to transmit. How often the phone transmits in standby mode is dependant on your network also.

With my phone operating Wi-Fi almost flat out and many applications running I will normally get 5 to 6 hours at a time. But that is of little concern to me as I have spare batteries and can charge them pretty much anywhere.

talking about batteries, is there any kind of desktop/independent charger where i can just pop the battery in overnight and then take it with me in the morning? am thinking of something like the recharable pencil cells for a digital camera. Or do i have to charge the battery in the phone itself only? Am sure there must be something...:o

In nokia n82 battery stand-by is up to 225hrs. I am not aware about camera and pics exactly but it does lasts for 4 hrs 20 min if you talk. In case of music and pics it may become sluggish or a little bit effected.

I have a couple external battery chargers for my Nokia batteries that I have sourced online and they all work well. It is important to be able to charge spare batteries for any portable device so you can continue using it.

I posted about the desktop charger I use at home on this forum that can charge a spare battery but there are plenty of chargers available online to charge the BP-6MT.

If you are going to purchase a charger on eBay avoid getting a package which includes batteries, almost guaranteed the batteries will be low quality after market copies. They tend to be oversized making them difficult to fit in the phone and have much less capacity than genuine Nokia batteries.

These things help extend battery life in my experience

Turn off the auto Rotate thing.

In Network selection, Put on GSM Not auto or Dual

change the Log to 1 day or even none

Using GPS will eat battery lots, so in my car, I always put it on the car charger, even if fone is fully charged :)

I charge the N82 once time about 5 days, calling and using tomtom mobiles and agenda and such, I think it is good duration. If you use a lot the phone buy an original battery charger + new original battery + original car charger and you go.
