Concept: Gaming buttons on N82?
The N82 is an ALMOST perfect phone for me. The only thing missing IMO is gaming keys above the screen, as seen on the N81 and even my old K800i. These would be great for playing SNES games and would turn the N82 into a little portable console.
I was thinking, you know the MobiPad app that lets you use the bluetooth wiimote for a controller? What if there were a small 'jacket' type thing that slipped over the end of the phone which included two buttons and a small bluetooth chip? That way there would be no modding of the phone itself and it should work reasonably well. The casing could be made of some sort of silicone to make it really small but if that won't work a plastic casing could be used. It could look something like this... ![]() Keep in mind this is totally 'concept'. I have not the skills or the tools required to create it but maybe someone does? I'm sure it could be modified for other phones too... What do you people think? Possible? |

thats a good idea, i would use it. I refuse to play fifa or any other game that requires two fingers just because of the n82 setup. Hopefully some1 picks it out ant makes it. Nice thinking :D

There's always the 'duct tape n82 to wiimote' option but it's not really very portable.. |

I just had another idea...
Could a small program be written that detects when a finger is put over the front camera? This way we could use the front camera as a sort of touch sensitive button... |

i plan on taking a wiimote apart and putting it into a snes controller shell, rewiring the weird buttons on a wiimote to actually make sense..
i have no soldering skills, but a friend that does.. hope it turns out, i'll let you know.. other option is just buy the bluetooth gamepad thing, but i have heard mixed reviews.. i have tried the wiimote with the program, and it works quite well, just the button lay out on a wiimote is not ideal at all. |
