Updating Nokia Maps without Windows?
Can I update Nokia Maps and download new maps without using the PC Suite? Can I do it directly from my N82?

You can download the Nokia Maps .sis file to your PC, transfer it to your phone (bluetooth, USB in data transfer mode, your choice) and install from Apps Manager.

You cannot download new maps in bulk directly to your phone without using the Maploader on your PC.

You can download the area map of where you are on the go, either over the air (not recommended unless you have a free/very cheap data plan and 3G) or via WiFi, but how often do you have WiFi when on the move ?

Does removing a program from the app manager only delete the download or does it actually uninstall the app?

You just run Nokia Maps and set it to connect to network, if you don't have any maps preloaded once it gets a lock on your current position it will download the map for the immediate area and update it as you move. Bear in mind these are huge data files to download, it will be both slow and expensive to do OTA.

It only uninstalls the app, the download remains.

Where do the app downloads reside? I have Y Browser installed.
