Just as Dead1nside experienced, I had an attempted WLAN connection every 10 seconds to an old WLAN which was killing my battery. After I turned that off, I used the energy profiler to see what was going on.

Power usage with no apps running but the screen active (on lowest level) was about 0.7W. When it went into screen off mode that went down to 0.35W...
After I did a hard reset, the first value dropped to 0.35W and the second value to 0.08W. It remained at this level after I copied my content back.
I turned screen rotation on to see what that was like and was quite surprised - Normal usage went up to about 0.47W, and whenever I rotated the phone, it spiked to about 1W!!

Anyway, hopefully this will help more people - my phone was using 4 times the power it should have been using after the firmware upgrade, so a hard reset is absolutely necessary.
I think the lesson is to not upgrade firmware or touch the software if everything is ok especially battery. It seems that upgrade causes the poor battery performance. Definitely a software problem.

Yappaty, may I ask what version of firmware you had prior to upgrading? And what was your battery life before and after upgrade?

Thanks

The lesson is to perform a hard reset after upgrade in order to make a clean fresh start.

Hi Everyone,

Need help here. Few days back, I upgraded from 20.0.xxx to 31.0.016, I've problem with Wlan. I can't access WIFI point at all and it gave me error saying that " there is an active adapter" and asking me to turn off the active point and re-try. Everytime when I started to access web using my N82, once Wlan Icon will appear and prevent me from getting on web. Even thoug h I turned off the Wlan point and make sure that I don't have active connection, the Wlan Icon will be leave ON and it drain out my battery pretty fast. In order to fix this, I got to reboot my N82.

Do hope that someone here can share with me a solution to fix this problem. Regreted that I upgraded from v20.0.xxx, and even though it's slow but at least every features work as it suppose to be. Disappointed with Nokia firmware.

Looking forward for any comments or Reply.

Thank you.

Micky,

1st of all, wish to apologise for repost in 3 different thread, and 2nd thank you for the suggestion but it still have the same error : WLAN : WLAN Connectionalready active. Close it and try again. Seems like I can't even create a connection at all. Once I see the WLAN icon appear, then it would stay until I reboot my phone, else it would drain my N82 battery.

THanks.
