Fring - works fine on mine and now supports video calls too.

You need to set up your general Connection settings to Always Ask and then you can always choose which connection to be used.

No problem, that's what the Thanks button is for.

That depends mainly on the speed and stability of your Internet connection plus the load on the Skype servers at any given time, so I don't think there is much you can do about it.

I beg to differ with 93tid on the call quality question. I was once an avid user of Fring.

Unfortunately, T-Mobile Germany blocks the use of Fring on their own network. So I thought I'd try Nimbuzz. Believe it or not, it blocks Nimbuzz too.

But, thanks to WiFi, I can use them anyway in some places. And I can say that without any doubt, the call quality is substantially better with Nimbuzz than it was with Fring.

Just my personal experience. I haven't tried the Skype application. I think I read that it doesn't actually make free skype to skype calls, so never tried it.

    No Skype for N86?

Skype announces Symbian mobile phones are compatible with their service but they seem to have left out the N86! WTF?! I'm so pissed!

    Skype on your mobile device

    The list includes N81, N82, N95, N95 8GB, N96, N97, N97 Mini and even the N85. But where is the N86???

Surely the N85 version is compatible with the N86? Maybe they didn't include the N86 because they overlooked it. I mean, Nokia produce so many different models of phones it's hard to keep up.

    RE: Skype application

Hiya, bringing an old thread back up to the top.

I've never been able to get rid of my old N82. Wanted to sell it, but couldn't quite part with it, so I'm going to give it to my brother, who's a poor poor student, whose phone is dying on him.

Anyway, so I installed the latest firmware etc etc., and went on the Ovi Store, and found Skype. I installed it, and it works brilliantly.

Has anyone been able to somehow access and/or install the application on their N86?

If yes, I'd really like to know how to isolate the sis file on the N82, and somehow send it to my N86.

    Please help!

Right, I can confirm, Skype showed as available on my N86 when I was looking through Ovi Store recently, so downloaded it, and it installed fine, however, when I try to launch it, its dead, it simply don't launch, or start up. Will try a fresh installation later, but as of yet, I'm very disappointed.

To find your Nokia Firmware version, key *#0000#. The V##.#.### shown is your current Firmware! Please add these details with Nokia model to your profile. This information will help others help you. Thank you.!
