Sandisk. There are various examples of other brands not being as reliable, and sandisk doesn't cost that much more. And get it from a decent source, lots of fakes about.

You want micro SD by the way.

Only echo Barts comments, Stick with Scandisk and buy from a reputable outlet. Amount of data lost by chaps with snides is crazy.

I have a Transcend class 8, works fine, any brand can cause problems so it´s not easy to recommend a particular brand. You only have to buy it from a responsible seller.

But most problems come from other brands, you never here anything going wrong with Sandisk.

The following are the ratings of some currently available cards:
    Class 2: 16 Mbit/s (2 MByte/s)
    Class 4: 32 Mbit/s (4 MByte/s)
    Class 6: 48 Mbit/s (6 MByte/s)
    Class 10: 80 Mbit/s (10 MByte/s)

    Not fine as mine then!

Not true. We have very few reports of Sandisk cards having issues (only 1 afaik), whereas we have multiple examples of other brands going wrong, especially corrupting the data.

There is reason for this - Sandisk make their own cards. Other brands, like kingston, do not. Kingston especially is not a good choice, since they have recently been found to use below par manufactorers (see Evil's link).

As for class, it's really not that important in a smartphone. You will only really notice if you have a huge mass of data to transfer, which will generally only be once - i.e. when you first get the phone and stick all your media on there.

If you feel you need the extra speed for some reason, go for it. However, given the price difference there really isn't much point.

True, agree with you. i took a class 6 because of my MASS music library!
I think it helps when you select memory card for video recording or photo, it is faster,IMO.

I would like to see that put to the test one day, though in theory it should be easy to work out, if you know how fast the phone puts data to the card when recording video (it's really not going to noticably affect any photo times).

Difference between the classes. I had originally a 4GB memcard at Class 4. It lagged when the camera saves a picture.
Its different now with the class 6 mate!

Aye, though the conditions would have to be the same. I.e. were both cards fully defragmented? Was the phone firmware the same? Was there any extra apps running? And a whole host of other variables. Only way you can properly test is with clean cards, and the same phone taking the same pictures.

Would be a good test though.

    Then look at the costs.

I have to say, that test is not appropriate for mobile phones. Very high end, fast and expensive cards generally don't get full use in mobile phones. If you have extra money to burn, or your doing something exceptional with your phone (like constantly transferring large amounts of data via USB or card reader), then it *might* be worth it.

You can easily record a video of you taking a picture using first/second card and make a comparison (if you still have them both)

Anyways, the maximum card capacity which N86 supports is 16GB (or I'm wrong)? For me that's too much, I am well satisfied with built in 8GB. If you really need that amount of space it's better to go for higher class cards as they have much faster transfer rates.

    Cheers!
